USPS Shipping Delays Tracking Not Updated

I am back on Ebay selling (I took a break since 2018), and just started selling again.  I cannot believe how bad USPS is in my area now, and I don't understand why "priority mail" still says 1-3 days delivery, when it literally takes them 5-7 days to get there.  Also, I dropped off a package on Tuesday, and it JUST got scanned and accepted yesterday evening which makes me look like I sat on it, which I didn't.  

I was wondering if it's just me, or if USPS service is not what it used to be?  I am afraid of negative feedback because it looks like I am not shipping as promptly as I am.   

They aren't updating our tracking info as much as they should either.  

Ebay should change priority mail delivery times, since clearly the post office is not delivering within those time frames (although, maybe it's just the holiday season?) and it will go back to normal in January?

Yes,  I stopped selling several weeks ago when eby was telling my buyers that they would receive their package in 4-5 days (estimated del. date).   It was taking 2-4 days for my shipped items to be processed at my local USPS distribution center, 40 miles from my house.   Needless to say, most of those packages were "in transit arriving late", which makes me look like bad, which is not hard to do.  I will say this about USPS, all of my packages do eventually get delivered.  Maybe will start sellling again in mid to late January.

No, it's not just you.  USPS has gotten really bad.  I ship out of Memphis, and my packages don't get scanned the day I ship them, it's usually 1 or 2 days later, if they get scanned at all!  It usually takes 3 to 4 days for them to just get out of Memphis, so I get defects for late shipments all the time!  Since January I have had like 70 defects for late shipments, and I appealed every one of them.  I lost 3, won the rest, but what a pain and a waste of my time for something that is not my fault!  So you are not alone, and I hate to say it, but they just keep getting worse and worse, never better! Maybe a miracle will happen and after the holidays they will be great and deliveries will be on time all the time!

poorly performing post office is are the exception to the rule. I am amazed at what a great job they do. Absolutely, you can find units that aren’t as good as others. The good news is that you have options. Why not just go to a different post office, if your post office isn’t performing well? Also, regarding not getting scans, There is nothing preventing you from standing in line and getting an actual scan for your delivery.

I have 4 international packages for Europe sitting at USPS in Los Angeles for over a month now.

talked to my carrier this morning and it’s a mess there. I’ve been shipping internationally for a decade but these USPS delays both domestic and international are getting worse and worse. (And not bc it’s Xmas time)

I'm seeing delays as well, especially in Cincinnati.  The estimated dates of delivery need to be adjusted by eBay.  I shipped out a package today (media mail), Ohio to Utah, and the estimated date is December 24.  MEDIA MAIL.   I shipped several packages on Dec. 10 (media mail and first class) and they were supposed to be delivered yesterday.  They show that they are still in Cincinnati.  Reminds me of last year.

I put my account on time away yesterday so I don't have to deal with the stress of messages of where is my package?

Definitely learned in my area to get a receipt and scan before dropping off.  If I don't get one, I have no way of proving I did drop it off and as a customer's point of view, I understand their frustration, but as a seller, it's so upsetting because we try and strive to be the best and customer service is #1.   I'm both (seller and buyer).  Mostly seller, but I am always looking for goodies 🙂  lol.  In my area though, there is definitely a difference compared how it was back in 2018.   When priority mail said 2 day delivery, it was two day.  Now, two delivery is 5 day delivery.  I hope customers understand, and aren't expecting something that doesn't exist (but like you said), at least in my area.

I don't know about dawaguila_2, but I have gone to 3 different post offices in Memphis and sometimes everything goes like it should and the package is out of Memphis and in transit to the buyer within 2 days.  But most times, the package does not get scanned until the next day, and then it floats around in the USPS Memphis Distribution System for 3 days, lately it has been 4 days, and finally on the 4th or 5th day after I drop it off it leaves Memphis and is in transit to the buyer.   I never know what is going to happen after I drop it off.  I have scheduled pick ups online, put the package or packages in my mailbox with the flag up, and even though I scheduled a pickup, if I don't have mail coming that day my package is not picked up! And yes, there is something preventing me from standing in line to get my package scanned; It is the 30 minutes I get for my lunch break.  So in Memphis, in my experience, I am all out of these options you say I have!
