Is Priority Mail tape available for sale from the USPS? I looked at their store but couldn't find it. I did find a few listings on Ebay for such tape. I don't know if those prices are too inflated though.

USPS never sells any of their Priority Mail supplies; you can order them for free at usps.com. However, access to the "tape" was discontinued many years ago. So you have to either buy it from somebody else, or ask very nicely at the Post Office counter.

The postal service used to send it to you for free. Many years ago they sent me a case. Still have several rolls. I suppose it others that still have lots of around that are selling it. When you ask at the post office, always refer to is as a "label". You were supposed to use it to mark unmarked priority packages with it. Not pack with it.

I had about the best relationship you can have with counter clerks at a USPS and I maybe scored a roll a year. They must keep that stuff under retinal scan lockdown.

Yes, that's why I want it. I am Media Mail girl but lately have had some Priority mail using my own boxes. I do have labels but they are a little old and no longer reliably sticky. So I cover them with clear tape. the only reason I am interested in Priority tape is to make the Priority mail shipping a bit more obvious than a couple of labels.

You could order new labels that stick better.
The Priority Mail label "tape" is very thin and difficult to work with, IMHO. I'd rather just put on a few extra stickers.

I didn't think of that! The Ebay Seller Board: where people go to encounter genius.

I use these stickers all the time to identify the package.

Your shipping label is all the PO needs to know it's "Priority". Nobody is going to sort via what tape is on it.
