Recently bought a single football card ($18) and paid $5.20 for shipping via USPS 1st Class. I get shipping can be inflated as cost of bubble mailer, etc.
I looked at the tracking and it says: Shipping Service eBay Standard Envelope for Trading Cards, Stamps, Postcards & Coins up to $20
Is that different than 1st Class? My thought is yes as I believe that is the eBay low cost way and most likely cost the seller $1.
Am I right to be frustrated here that the item wasn't shipping via my paid method? Anything I can do?

Well it's the same shipping speed and still ships first class, just as a letter instead of parcel. It's certainly a big stretch of the truth though.
I've shipped plenty with eBay standard envelope but make sure that's what's showed on the listing.

Thanks- I agree a stretch of the truth

I think $5.20 for First Class in a bubble mailer is pushing it too far! Paying that much for ESE is outrageous.

No one put a gun to your head to buy from that seller.

Tagging on:
Would the OP complain if the seller charged $5.20 for shipping and then used Priority mail and the seller incurred a loss?
I agreed the OP agreed to pay the total including $5.20 shipping. And ESUS is 1st class as far as I can see.

ESUS is .52 vs $5.20. Both same speed as long as you get it, I wouldn't complain.

you have every right to feel like you were given less than you paid for
those envelopes for cards and such are no where near as good as 1st class package service
you paid for 1st class package service and were given the lowest type of service there is
its sellers like this that give ebay a bad name.simpley put, they are stealing from buyers
this seller is just a common ebay grade crook

I've had 3 serial numbered cards shipped with esus that have gotten lost by usps. Yes I got my refund but now I can't complete my 10/10 set anymore. So it's now ruined! Will never use esus again. Employees at usps know that it doesn't have any value to the seller or to themselves but to the buyer it does!
