I have a UPS surepost package that went missing in the transfer between UPS and USPS. The last UPS scan shows:
12/17/2024 10:07 A.M. | On the Way Package transferred to post office |
And the USPS scan shows:
On Its Way to USPS
Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item
SAN RAMON, CA 94583
December 17, 2024, 7:30 am
Shipping Partner: UPS WORLDWIDE FORWARDING, INC
I have called both. UPS states they delivered it to the post office. the post office states they never received it. I called UPS back and they stated they can only deal with the account holder, which is eBay. I called eBay support and they wouldn't connect me with an agent and only gave me the link to eBay help online.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you get it resolved? Thank you.

It's not an easy one...
I would create a missing mail search on the USPS website for the USPS tracking and see if the USPS can locate it.
UPS SurePost packages are only insured while in possession of the UPS.
eBay support is very .... lacking of any information when it comes to actual shipping issues, so buying your label on eBay is difficult.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a UPS SurePost label on eBay....
Because the UPS marked the package as 'Transferred', I don't think it's even possible to file an insurance claim.
I think your best bet is to hope the USPS can locate it.

All I can say is a few of my shipments have slowed to a crawl over this past week.
Let the buyer contact you if they don't receive it. I would not contact the buyer as you don't want them opening a INR any sooner.
