So what I think the UPS did was scan incorrectly that it was delivered not transffered.
So it shows Delivered to the wrong city (a nearby one).
The USPS tracking shows activity today that they are 'Processing'.
However, on eBay it's already marked delivered to wrong address, buyer filed an INR.
Problem is I don't think I can dispute their INR, should I replace the original tracking number with the USPS tracking number on the INR?
Because the original tracking number shows wrong information.

No (on showing usps tracking) as that is NOT the tracking that ebay will get any info on.
I would wait until you are allowed to respond, and then use the UPS number in the response (maybe by then it will again show delivered to the right zip code).
Worse case, you lose because of the error (and may possibly be able to 'appeal' should the tracking number NOW shows delivered (if you cannot wait much longer to respond))

Let the buyer know what is going on, that the PO scanned item as "delivered" when it should've been scanned as "accepted". My PO does this sometimes, fortunately not recently. Tracking should continue to update normally. I don't think that I've ever seen a "processing" scan, however. Does the delivery notification say that it was delivered/picked up at a PO or does it show that it went to a particular address? If it's the latter, I don't know what to tell you.
Never mind, I didn't pay close enough attention to this message's title. Provide both tracking numbers (USPS and UPS) to dispute the claim and let the buyer know that USPS did a delivery scan rather than a transfer scan. UPS tracking should update normally.

UPS says they OPT'd to deliver it, even have proof of delivery but to the wrong city.
The USPS actually has the package, I'm not sure the tracking will update any further on the UPS tracking site.

Got response from UPS.
They won't adjust the tracking.
And they told me that no tracking updates will have further.
Annoying.

Is there any protection for this situation?
I've been looking at the policy documents, and it seems I will have to refund them to avoid a defect.
UPS SurePost. UPS marked item 'Delivered' to USPS instead of 'Transferred'.
USPS tracking shows it is on the way to the correct location and will be delivered successfully.
Is my only hope that the buyer is honest and will not escalate? But then If I allow it to get to that point then I will have defect? They already opened an INR for it which I have until the 26th, but that doesn't fix the tracking issue. 😞

UPS sure post isn't best to use during Christmas time , because of odd issues like this one .

I am trying to get a grasp on what is transpiring pertaining to the INR.
In the Manage Paid and Shipped Orders page, above View Order Details, does it state Delivered?
If so, wondering if indicating Delivered is what the eBay system will go by for the INR case?

Basically, with UPS SurePost, You supply the UPS tracking number, and once UPS marks it transferred, to the USPS, the tracking will automatically update with tracking details from the USPS on the UPS tracking, and reflect delivery.
However, in this instance, eBay has it registered as 'Delivered', and the UPS tracking isn't updating with the USPS information because the UPS driver marked it 'Delivered' not ' Transferred.
So now in the eBay system it shows 'Delivered' and the city it was delivered too (Yonkers) is a neighboring city to the correct city (20 minutes away).
But the USPS has the item and that tracking will not reflect on the original tracking, regardless that it's going to get delivered to the proper person.
eBay locks the tracking once it's delivered on the INR... You can't modify it, and I don't even know if I should modify it, because the USPS tracking starts on Yonkers where it was received from the UPS.

How can the UPS driver marked delivered on sure-post ?
12-23-2024 01:59 PM
Ahhh, OK. Thanks for the clarification.
Delivered to the wrong city. I should read more closely...
I am sure you already contacted the buyer to explain.
"Guessing" that the INR will close in your favor unless a eBay employee actually digs into it which is doubtful. This one is as sticky as they get. Who knows?

Uh because UPS sometimes delivers the package without ever transferring to the USPS.
SurePost packages aren't ALWAYS delivered by the USPS.
This one was, however the drive marked it as if UPS delivered it instead.

Hey @robbie31415 that's a good question. It's hard to say for sure which direction this will go initially - whether that be getting the case closed out in your favor, having it put on hold, or ending up with a defect. More than likely we'd put this case on hold, since the tracking is incomplete, and allow more time for the actual delivery. But as long as the tracking with USPS shows the correct delivery (once delivered, obviously), you would be in good shape to appeal that defect.

Thanks for the helpful information .

kyle@ebay thank you for your response.
The item has successfully been delivered, and the INR says to resolve by the 26th.
However, the UPS tracking still says Delivered to Yonkers, So I'm guessing I'm SOL. 😞
Since the UPS marked it 'Delivered' not 'Transferred' The tracking on the order isn't reflecting the USPS information.
