This is my first purchase from outside of the US. I bought an item from a person from the Russian Federation. They provided a tracking number to me and Ebay. The tracking number is a Russian carrier number. I have been able to track follow the item through Russia every day. Four days ago it went through customs in Kaliningrad, and that's the last I am able to follow. I'm guessing it's on a plane to the states, but how do I know when it might be carried by a US carrier? Will I get a different tracking number?
This is a first for me and I know I have the Ebay Money Back Guarantee if it should not show up.
Any help?

You might as well relax and read a book. Your package is on the way. It's unlikely that the USPS is going to scan that item, but it is possible. One the way to the U.S. the next stop is customs. You might see a scan for customs and then again, you might not.
Keep track of the last day that ebay indicated it might arrive. The last day, Not the first. When the last date has passed you have 30 days to file INR if it still hasn't shown up.
I buy many items from eastern Europe, Poland, Czech republic, it's always a crapshoot.
I had a package from Poland get scanned in at ISC NY on June 5th never to be seen again.
I had other items coming from that area take 94 days and another took 95 days.
I'm sure you feel better now. If you're in a hurry, avoid eastern Europe and the former USSR

PS: Many items I buy from overseas do not get any scans when they arrive in the U.S. Not just Eastern Europe. I presume
that the U.S. and some other countries use a different system.

Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure if I feel any better but I guess I'll just wait for that delivery date and see what happens.
