Tracking Numbers Validation in ‘item not received’ case

hello hello!

so I had my first case issuing 'item not received'. The tracking number from UPS says that it was delivered tho. Talked with the buyer and 1) or she's lying or 2) UPS really messed up. Ebay told me that I'm covered once the TN is right. But this raised me some questions that I never thought:
1) does ebay keep an eye on buyers metrics/closed cases against them (or can they simply open a case 'item not received' infinite number of times and always put the fault on the carrier and get refund from ebay anyway)?
2) Although I'm protected by the right UPS TN, I can't see details about exact street/zipcode of delivery - UPS only shows me city, state of delivery. So, will ebay have access to this kind of more detailed information, or they just trust that city, state information?

Many thanks in advance!

Re: Tracking Numbers Validation in ‘item not received’ case

You are covered, but tell your buyer the following:

Since tracking shows it was delivered to your address, but wasn't, call or visit the carrier with the tracking number and insist they track down where the package was actually left, which they can do with scans and GPS.

If delivered to a wrong address they will try to retrieve it. Also watch the tracking for a scan it got turned in for redelivery or returned to the seller.

If it shows it was delivered to your address and is now stolen or missing, it is a matter for a local police report and your insurance company. Neither ebay or the seller can help further.

I'll take a shot...

1) eBay keeps up with buyers who open too many Returns, and they can lose the ability to open that  type of case.
2) UPS knows the EXACT spot where the package was left. Contact them if the buyer doesn't find their order.

To stay safe with eBay, enter the tracking number into the case... even though it's shown on the order. Good luck.

I think it makes sense to keep track of it, otherwise as a buyer I could open as many cases as I wanted and take advantage of 'free refunds'.

My second part of the question tho was more relative to if ebay really knows the Exact Spot that UPS knows and left the package...

Enter the tracking number and eBay will have access to the info, too.
