This is the link for my item:

It has not been updated since 05:51 a.m. - it is now 12:16 p.m., and I called to see if I could go and pick it up, because if it is to be delivered tomorrow, I will be in and out most of the day (especially around the time of delivery when the carrier is close to delivery) with my father with his doctor's appts.
Here is my local office response: "if it says that it arrived, it is already on the truck, we don't have to update it until it delivered," REALLY ??
The only reason I called is that the Seller sent it Registered w/Signature (not mad at the Seller). At the rate/service that my PO operates, it will Saturday when I finally get delivery

What time did you call?
I deliver mail and I'm usually one of the last to make it out of the Post Office and that is usually no later than 8:30am and some days it is tough to make it back in time for dispatch. Today my outgoing letters and packages never even made it inside the building, they went straight onto the truck. When I left my Jee was packed to the gills like it was the week before Christmas or something.

@lja440 - I called about 10 o'clock. I was going by the time that it arrived at my local PO - there was no update when I called or even around 4:30, only that it arrived. So I sat in the front hall and waited for the mail delivery and was able to catch the Carrier (not my usual Carrier). Under normal circumstances, I just wait, but since it needed a signature, I was a little anxious that I would miss it. And this is the same office that had a pkg for over a week, even though they said "we don't have it." 😞 My normal Carrier will update tracking. He must be on vacation
Thank you for your response 🙂

10 am would be way too late to catch the carrier.
What do you mean the normal carrier will update tracking. It was updated. If packages arrive at unit before the carrier leaves then they will be delivered THAT day. There really isn't any update that can be done. Pretty much the only delay that will happen is with SmartPost and SurePost hand offs which more often than not arrive at the PO after the carrier has left for the route. If it is arriving (a true USPS package) that early it will be out for delivery that day, no package is delayed unless it arrives at the delivering PO after the carriers have left.
Oh, and the only scans we carriers do are the delivery and attempted scans our (carriers) scanners don't have the options for any of the sorting type scans.

If that package was FedEx SmartPost that could well be true. We often get packages for other offices, when FedEx makes a mistake the delivery driver can not take the package back. FedEx sends a "recovery truck" which takes days and sometimes even a week. Of course, the package shows that it is at the PO but it doesn't say that it is at the WRONG Post Office.
