This Rookie Needs Help!

Although I've been a buyer on Ebay since 2001, I am in my first month of selling.  Everything has gone pretty good until I tried to use Letter-Track to mail my ACEOs.   I had asked for help on this a while back and was finally told by Letter-track that the reason why my two pieces didn't get scanned is because I used pastel colored envelopes.  They did say that the two pieces of mail would go on and be delivered 1st class but there wouldn't be any tracking.  I mailed those two envelopes on the 15th.  I had entered the tracking number on my list in Seller Hub.

So Monday (22nd), I had another ACEO to mail and used a white envelope using Letter-Track but this time I didn't enter the number because I wasn't sure about it.

Now it's the 24th and I received 3 separate emails showing that all 3 envelopes were scanned today by USPS Memphis and the estimated delivery date is August 30th and it shows I mailed them today (not true).   Apparently you can't track these tracking numbers from the list in the Seller Hub so I removed the two tracking numbers I had entered back on the 15th and I got a message that I was overdue for shipping.  When I marked that they were shipped, it is now showing that I shipped them today which is not true.  It looks like I mailed them 10 days after the sale.

I know Ebay is going to count this against me but I'm not sure there is a solution to fix it.

Is there anything I can do or do I just need to rack this up as my rookie mistake?

I have contacted the two buyers to let them know what is going on and have filed a complaint with USPS for the envelopes not being scanned until 9 days after they were dropped off.  Other than that I don't know what to do.  I just hate I'm going to get a bad mark with Ebay over this.

Not sure what "Letter Track" and "ACEO" is... but the USPS scans the label barcode, so not sure what is happening. Unless you are printing your labels on colored paper?

Letter track is through Letter track pro.com and "A C E O" are Artist Trading Cards.    The problem has been with my local USPS office and then the sorting  facility in Memphis.    Not much I can do about that but complain to USPS.    My concern with E bay is that since I deleted the tracking numbers from the shipped items in Seller Hub it now shows that I shipped both orders 9 days after I actually shipped it.   My handling time is set up as "Will usually ship within 1 business day of receiving cleared payment" which I did but due to all this it now appears that I was late shipping.   I just hate to two bad marks for late shipping when I actually shipped on time but the post office didn't scan them until over a week later.  I was just wondering if there is any way I can fix it.

If you change or enter new information, the date you do that always overrides the original information.  If you had left that info and IF the packages were scanned as delivered by the estimated delivery date, there would not be a late shipment ding. You can try contacting customer service on EBay Facebook once they have been delivered to see if they will help you.

Do you normally  use letter track and does usps generally scan the envelopes right away?

No...this was a mess.  USPS didn't scan the envelopes until 9 days after I had taken them to the post office.  I talked to Letter-track and we thought that since I had used pastel colored envelopes that the scanner wouldn't pick them up and they would just be sent on as 1st class mail since the correct postage was on them.    I realize now I shouldn't have touched it in seller hub after entering the tracking numbers.  I didn't know it would change the date shipped.   This my first month selling so I guess it was a lesson learned.    They wouldn't have been delivered by the estimated date anyway.  I did contact the two buyers and so far they have been super nice about it.  We do have a new estimated delivery date for them now so hopefully they get there.   I'll just take the hit from Ebay on this one.  I'll know not to do that next time.
