I’m new to the selling community on here. I sold two barbies to two different people. Both Russian, going to the same town. Googled it Russian scams come up. Should I proceed with the sale or cancel.

If you cancel you will get a serious defect, a few of those and you are finished selling here. Not sure, as a brand new seller, why you would attempt international selling, you are a scam magnet. You are going to get tracking on those dolls to prove delivery? If you cancel the transaction, as it is your first sale, I think you will be in serious trouble with Ebay.

As a Canadian buyer and past seller, I’m a bit ticked with the suggestion that international selling is a quagmire of scams, as though shipping anywhere other than the good ol’ U.S of Eh is an invitation to being instantly and persistently defrauded.
That said, Russia does appear to have its problems and I would be cautious as well. How long have these buyers been on eBay? Do they have a solid feedback track record? How are you planning on shipping the Barbies?

Its a quagmire of scams for newbie sellers that dont know the ropes domestically, and especially internationally.

Wow, I guess my wife and I shouldn’t have started selling from Canada to the US and everywhere else from day one 😂
However, I do agree that if a seller doesn’t have their ducks in a row for selling domestically, shipping internationally is a very steep learning curve.

Do you read the boards much?

I was a regular contributor to the International Trading Discussion Board back in the days when this site had one.

Yes, so was I..fifteen, sixteen years ago. That was before Ebay and Paypal started their mbg for instant refunds for any reason, particularly for international sales who dont use the GSP.Thats when I stopped selling fine jewelry internationally.

My takeaway from your last post is that it’s now problematic to sell fine jewellery (Canadian spelling 😂) period on eBay, thanks to the MBG.

Any pricey item is now problematic to sell on Ebay.

Anyway, back to the OP, seeing as they don’t specify international shipping rates and methods in their listings, I’m wondering if these buyers have tried to persuade them into a particular shipping method.

You don't have shipping to Russia set up so they won't be able to pay unless they have a US address. If they haven't paid and you only see a Russian address, you can cancel using problem with address. If they have paid, it must mean that they have a US address and you should send the package(s). If they do file a snad, you are only responsible to provide a return label from the address that you sent it to.
You also need to block buyer in countries that you don't ship to. You can do that in buyer preferences. Check off the box - 'block buyers with a primary shipping address in a country that I don't ship to.' That won't block international buyers with a US shipping address but it block buyers without one.
