Hello,
Hopefully someone can assist me with this issue. Up until today I have always listed items and selected the shipping method and price manually for each listing I do. For example a DVD movie I would select Economy Shipping and I would select the charge as free. Another item such as a 3 pound item I would select Standard Shipping and a flat rate of $10.25.
I was thinking so that I don't get caught with a huge shipping bill, I was going to exclude Hawaii and Alaska for some of my listings. I Googled how to do this and and started to create a "shipping policy" for it. I then decided I wasn't going to create this policy and just deleted it.
Now when I pull up the listing screen I get a "shipping policy" drop down with a couple random policies. Thought that was odd so I went into "business policies" and removed all the policies that were listed. However when I go back to list an item I get the "shipping policy" drop down but nothing in it. Couple times it actually repopulated with the policies I deleted and I went back into "business policies" and deleted them again. However I sell get the blank shipping policy drop down.
How do I get back to what I once had. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how I get the old options again. So much to list and I am now on hour 2 of trying to fix this.
Hopefully someone knows a quick fix that I am overlooking.
Thank you for any assistance you may have to offer!
Brad

Business policies help me keep my sanity. Manage and edit them (or disable them to go back to how you used to set up your listings) on this page.
Once you set up your shipping policies and name them so you can easily identify them, you can go to your active listings and bulk edit to assign your new policies.
After the initial mess of policies that are created when you first sign up are no longer tied to active listings, you can delete them.
It takes a little time and work to set it up, but in my opinion it's well worth it.

Just now I went in like I was going to add a policy. I selected shipping and was looking through the options. I then hit cancel and ALL my prior policies that I deleted have shown up in policies again. One of the most frustrating things I have dealt with in a long time

That was a super easy fix. Thank you! I can't believe I didn't set that.. or maybe I can since it was so tiny.
I agree it will probably come in handy and I should probably take the time to set them up. I was just frustrated as I have a ton to list today and ended up with that snag.
Thanks again!

Just adding on to @wastingtime101 (the best at shipping and policies)
You can "exclude" destinations in each individual listing.....(if you want)
Scroll down to SHIPPING (small print to the right (edit shipping options)
Make sure the "Excluded Locations" switch is "ON" (blue)
Then on the main page you can exclude Alaska/Hawaii
with the Excluded Locations dropdown
You can also do this in bulk editor to do a bunch at once
