Shipping labels

I just started selling on eBay again after a 2 year hiatus, I noticed the fees have gone up, I was expecting that. What I am not understanding is, it appears eBay is charging me for the shipping label, even though the buyer already paid for the shipping label. How could that be?

@navyvetwatchseller

The buyer's payment included the price of shipping.

From the buyer's payment, you use the funds to purchase the shipping label.

Re: Shipping labels

As said...........buyer's total payment, including shipping is credited (less fees, etc) to you......then YOU pay for the shipping.

The poster @albertabrightalberta  is correct.  eBay gave YOU the money the buyer paid for shipping (minus eBay fees, of course) so you could purchase the label.

The buyer paid you for the shipping label. Thus you have the funds to buy it. (You don't have it to buy it through eBay, but that does get you the on-line postage discount and automatic uploading of your tracking number.)

Re: Shipping labels

If you sold things 2 years ago it was no different then.   All a buyer does is pay what is charged in a listing, they have no way to purchase a label.   Their money paid for shipping is included in your payment from them.  As a seller, you must input the information about your package and purchase the label or take it the post office and pay.

Re: Shipping labels

The buyer pays you for the shipping (whatever you charged).

You use that money to pay for the shipping label.

Easy peasy.
