Shipped out an item on July 13 and still not to buyer. Package is in Chicago facility and i called them today and they are saying problem with address and i should do an intercept and talk to buyer to get correct address.
Shouldn't the eBay address be correct..lol
So the package has been all over and some facilities twice. When i filled out a missing mail request with USPS online and entered the address on the form it automatically entered Michigan city which is not the address city according to the order detail page with eBay..so i made that city which is Long Beach the city to send package to and completed the form.
Now i have messaged the buyer again through eBay messages and all that remains is my comments..all of theirs are gone?
IDK what to do this is getting ridiculous. I tried calling eBay twice and no speak with anyone even when i said talk to associate potential fraudulent address which is what the lady in Chicago mentioned to me that some type of fraud is going on with this.
Not sure what to do..anyone having same issues?

Wait for item to be returned to you.
It will say on package with a label what is going on.
No need to send emails or contact anyone yet.

The problem could be your buyer entered their address wrong or moved and never changed their address in eBay.
Calling eBay won’t do anything to help the situation they would only see the address you used to ship.
Just wait for the item to be returned to you and for the buyer to contact you or open an item not received case. When and if the buyer opens an INR case be sure to upload tracking into the case to show the item was returned to sender. You can refund the buyer minus original shipping.

Has the buyer filed a "Item not received" claim against you?

My dad used to live next to Long Beach in Duneland Beach. Both are unincorporated areas next to Michigan City, Indiana. They all have the same zip code. Long Beach is mostly vacation homes with people coming from Chicago for weekends or the summer who may not know the correct address. If it's an Airbnb they may not allow guests to receive mail.

No they have not filed yet and I messaged them on eBay to let them know that Im trying to figure out what's going on with package so they are waiting like me.

Yes thanks for that information. I see that Michigan City and Long Beach have the same zip code so i thought maybe an issue there somehow since the missing mail form from USPS automatically inserted Michigan City after i put the street address in of buyer which i then changed to Long Beach since that's the city on the label.

If they are having problems delivering it, they should return it to you, no since in paying to have it intercepted.
No good to contact CS, there's nothing to do until the package is returned or the buyers files an INR.

Well they have 30 days to file a claim and that time frame is almost up. It's one of those situations where you have to wait for the return then issue a refund. If the item is lost and it's stuck say in the same place for a week you would need to file a lost claim and issue the buyer a refund.

can you tell me what condition it is

I'm a little confused. You said the buyer's messages are gone. Had they reached out to you asking about their order?
If there is an actual issue with the address, the package will come back to you. It may take a couple extra weeks for you to get it back. You've informed the buyer, the ball is in their court whether to file an INR. If they do, make sure to respond to it but don't be in a hurry. When you do respond, if there are recent tracking scans, upload the tracking number and put in the box there are recent scans. This will buy you some time without issuing a refund. This way you can see if the package gets back to you. What you don't want to happen is to issue the refund, then the package end up getting delivered to them.
Tracking is still very crazy at times. Look at the tracking for this one: 9434608106244107166635
It makes my head spin. For one thing, some of the scan timestamps are not even logistically possible. I'm not sure what is going on, but I've not heard anything from my buyer. I filed a missing mail request so if the package has not been delivered, hopefully someone at a sorting center will intercept it and see why it is bouncing between facilities.
I would not stress over this and do not keep messaging the buyer. They know they can file an INR.

"If there is an actual issue with the address, the package will come back to you. It may take a couple extra weeks for you to get it back."
I had one take over 2 months and when I got it back it wasn't the address at all but the buyer had abbreviated their name.
