I have an iMac that I would like to list on eBay. I have the original box but would like to double box. The original box measures 10" x 27" x 24" so I need a box a little bit bigger than that. Where can I buy a single box with those dimensions?

All of your seller FB that I can see is for low dollar items. Are you aware of the ways a seller can be defrauded when listing high dollar tech items and do you feel you are able to guard against them?

You might want to wander over to the Selling Board and seek guidance: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/bd-p/selling-db

I am not sure. While most of the items I sell are low dollar items, I have sold some Apple laptops in the past with no issues. What should I be aware of?
Apple products are among the most frequent targets for scams, theft, etc., and I've noticed the frequency of reported problems really rising in the last year. Even a seasoned seller who is on the lookout for theft can get these products stolen because the eBay policies do not give sellers much protection .... all a buyer has to do is file a MBG claim with eBay saying that they received a brick in the mail, and you have lost your computer and the money.
The secret to avoiding theft is to sell items that that thieves aren't targeting. Thus, I would never sell an Apple product on eBay if it went for more than $200.

In this case, I think it depends on how old an iMac it is. The iMac is yesterday's news at this point; I can understand being concerned about an iPhone or a recent-vintage iPad or iBook. An older iMac has little to no sexy left to attract a scammer.

Make sure you have pictures of any removable parts such as the battery. Keep a record of the serial number. Don't be so sure that someone won't try to steal your laptop just because it's an older model, Also I wouldn't allow an international sale or ship to a freight forwarder

I would like to thank all that responded to this post. I had no idea of the scams that were out there until now. To date, I've been very lucky.
The iMac that I plan to sell is almost 10 years old, so hopefully only serious buyers will be looking.

But what you may run into is a serious 'parts replacer'. They have something that doesn't work and can't find parts to fix it. So they shop for a working unit to scavenge. They take the good parts out of the working unit to fix theirs, then put their old broken parts in the one they just bought. Then they return the 'new' unit as broken, non working. The unfortunate seller really has no option due to policies here.

I do think that it's really quite possible to sell you old IMAC without a problem. Just be aware of possible scams and keep records to prevent someone from pirating parts from your unit. I had a buyer who tried to steal a brand new portable hard drive from me by returning and old one. He forgot about the serial number which I had in one of the pictures in the listing so when I received his broken drive which wasn't even the same model I reported him to eBay and actually got the case closed in my favor. Surprised me completely but I got a USA CS rep when I called to report him. I suspect I wasn't his first victim for this kind of scam.
