Shipping box for bats

Hi 

using free usps box to ship now, thinking a better way might be 3 x 3 x 38 box…. Any ideas of where to find  a box like this or have you shipped a better way? Thanks

Generally not much savings when moving away from the "free Priority box" unless you are moving away fro USPS all together.

Difference between Priority, and Parcel shipping cost is usually not enough to offset the cost of buying a box, or the time it takes to build your own box.    4X4X40 box would cost about $1.50

I build some of my own, but that is to stay under the 1728 cu. in. cutoff above which the surcharges kick in.

@cohoman44  I make custom boxes for odd shaped items.  You need to start with a box laid flat with a dimension either up and down or side to side (even if across a corner fold on the box) the length of the bat PLUS 6" (3" on each end).  If you go to a self storage place or a U-Haul store they have larger foot print boxes.  You can probably get a big box and wind up getting several bat boxes out of it ...

Are you using the USPS triangle free box?  We just shipped a wooden bat using those and it was the perfect size.
