I am dealing with banknotes in ebay, always use registered letters. But recent year I have noticed much more lost mails. I rarely had previous years any mails lost. Maybe only one. My sales volume have not increased. But that recent year I have lost mails to: UK, Spain, Italy, USA. Thats makes my business questionable, because I sell high value notes and refunds are my loss.
Have anyone have same issues recent year selling banknotes and lost mails?
How do you protect your shipments, use maybe foil to cover banknote inside envelope so they can not scan through ? Or add insurance value to letter?
My mails could be 200 to 600 eur worth.

0 lost packages in EU or anywhere else in the world (except for USA 2 years ago).
If package is of higher Value - Insure.
I would guess that envelopes are easier to loose as they may stick together or get stuck in sorting machines. Personally i would not sell banknotes on eBay, but at a local marketplace instead.
