When using a priority mail box free from USPS, is it ok to cut the box smaller and still ship Priority?

Thank You

As long as you print the appropriate label for the box you are shipping with, you can use that box, flat rate included. And you can resize the box.

Altering a flat-rate box? Not allowed, as far as I know.

If you alter, say, a large flat rate box  which is 12×12×6  and Make it 12×12×4 with a box resizer, and buy a label for a large flat rate box, it is no problem. It is all in the label you purchase.

What you can't do is alter the LFR box or not alter the LFR box and use a regular priority mail label or ground advantage. Has to be a LFR label.
