Shipping Label and Payment

Hi everyone,

I’m having some issues with an eBay order and need some advice. I bought a shipping label for an item I sold tonight, but when I checked the tracking, it says the package has already been delivered to California, which isn’t possible since I just bought the label. It seems like the tracking number is linked to a different package. On top of that, I haven’t received payment for the item—it hasn’t shown up in my account yet, which is really unusual. Like usually it will say your total funds and it will say processing #. Has anyone experienced something like this before? I’m worried about losing money on this order and would appreciate any tips on how to handle it.

There are some issues with eBay USPS labels today. Do this @goldsgear :

1. Cancel the label you purchased.

2. Unmark the item as shipped since I believe you're saying the buyer hasn't paid yet.

3. Do not purchase a new label until the buyer pays.

4. This type of problem has happened before with USPS labels and it's usually resolved within a day or two tops. See if labels are back to normal on Monday and if they are not you can go to pirateship.com and get the same rates for all USPS services.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

So it says delivered on the tracking. How do I cancel the shipping label and get a refund? The other thing is it says the buyer has paid and everything but it just doesn’t show up in my balance and it’s been a couple days now.

If the system will not let you void because there's already tracking you can contact eBay CS and have them process the cancellation, OR you can wait it out as eBay will (if history is any indication) most likely take care of sellers and automatically apply label credits for impacted transactions. I'm sure eBay reps will post here on Monday with an update - they're not usually around on weekends.

There are a number of posts on this same issue and people have contacted eBay.

The best thing we can do on the forum is Thumbs up and consolidate findings on a main thread so the conversation isn't fractured, and so people are more likely to find the more definitive post.

This earlier thread has the most traction, so please thumbs up that post and stay tuned for updates.

Hopefully we'll get an eBay moderator to see that thread and give more information.
