It pretty much is what it is.  I am only selling at my B&M currently, if I were to list I would probably stick to domestic shipping for now.

You will have to explain this situation more clearly.

For instance, when say the charges are "too high", what exactly do you mean?

  • Are you saying you have sold the item, and now it will cost more to ship it than you will be collecting from the buyer?
  • Are you saying that the buyer wants to buy the item, but he considers the shipping cost on your listing to be too high?
  • Are you saying that the shipping service you sold to the buyer is no longer available because of COIVD, and the alternatives that are still available are too expensive?

And when you say "clear that problem" with the customer, what are you trying to accomplish ?

  • are you just trying to make him understand why the cost is so high?
  • are you trying fix a problem with your listing so the shipping shows correctly?
  • are you trying to cancel a transaction because the buyer refuses to pay?
  • are you trying to find a cheaper shipping method?

The shipping charges have been in force since the latest increase in January. Nothing has changed, the virus has not affected the shipping charges at all.

Give them an exact quote, or send them a link to the USPS site so they can see themselves. The shipping charges are what they are. You don't have to charge full shipping, that's the only way to 'clear the problem' with the customer.
