I’ve noticed an issue with my eBay listings, and it looks like it may be on the eBay side.
I list an item and put in the dimensions and the weight, in this case it’s a small item that weighs 1 pound. EBay say USPS First Class mail with a cost of x. Now that the auction is over and the buyer paid the first class price, it’s not available for me to use. This is because you cannot send a first class package that’s over 15oz. So….if this is known, why are they allowing it in the listing since it is impossible to use???
I don’t sell that often, so if I’m missing something please let me know.

The weight limit for First Class packages is 15.99 ounces.
Current USPS postage prices are the same for any weight from 12 to 15.99 ounces.
If your package is not over the weight limit, you can just change the weight on the label form to 15 ounces since the postage cost would be the same as for 15.99 ounces.

You used calculated shipping charging retail rates. This means that the buyer pays the same for First Class and Priority because anything over 13 oz cannot ship First Class at the retail counter, so eBay jumps the price and charges buyers the Priority rate.
In other words, even if you do ship Priority, it will not be at a loss.
