Shipper choice

Hi, I bought an item on which the seller only gave one shipping option, UPS. Then he ships it USPS and it gets lost. I inquired why he didn't use UPS as stated and he replies that I (the buyer) chose USPS when he went to print label. He attaches the label shipper selection page. I have attached it here for you to see.

It says "Buyer Selected" next to USPS Priority Mail? How did I choose the sellers shipping choice when he offered no choices but UPS? I looked in my eBay account preferences and found no place where I could select what shipper a seller was to use!

Thanks for any help on this

@ramdiezel

Some sellers are not aware that ebay shows "buyer selected" even when no choice is made made, or even offered.

ebay "bots" make the selection based on weight and dimensions provided by the seller.

Just sold a refrigerator part.  4 ounces.  4x4x4 dimensions.

ebay chose USPS "Priority"

also displayed for me to choose from when at the label page was 1st Class, and Media Mail.

eBay is clueless as is demonstrated by the example.  5x26x31 in a FRE.

If you have not received the item and ebay's estimate date of arrival has passed, file an Item Not Received claim.

You can' t do much about the carrier now, but ask the seller why there is no UPS option when he clearly had that option when you purchased it (Your pic only shows Fedex and USPS). I would guess that there was no other option to select when you made a payment and you just did not notice.

You could also tell them that you would certainly not pick the most expensive Priority Mail option when you could have picked Priority Mail flat rate envelope for $7.15. These are bogus choices, you can tell the seller that you are unhappy (if you care to communicate that with them). An 8 lbs package that needed a box 25 x 31 x 5 inches can't be mailed in a Flat rate legal envelope. So the third choice is bogus. The second choice is obviously also bogus for the same reason.

You have a case here of a dishonest seller. I think when you paid there was no other choice for you to pick from,  only USPS Priority Mail and that's how the seller set it up.
