Okay so I just sold something via EBay international standard delivery going to Canada.. (I’m in the US) I don’t print my labels out yet I just hand write all addresses. I’m a fairly new seller and saw videos on shipping internationally and apparently if I COULD print my own label out on eBay, my package would go to Kentucky and then eBay themselves handle it from there and get it to the destination. My question is if I don’t print my own labels out, how can I get around having to essentially pay out of pocket for this to go straight to its destination? Needless to say it is significantly cheaper just shipping to Kentucky. Sorry if this is confusing and thanks in advance

When you set up listings, you state how much the buyer is to pay for shipping, so you will not be 'out of pocket' for shipping charges.
You don't get charged for the international label to go to KY or whichever domestic ebay interim shipping facility.
Here is the link for info>

eBay international standard delivery is not Global Shipping Program. GSP's warehouse is located in Kentucky. You've the two mixed up
But to answer your question, yes, you can hand-write your label and upload the tracking number but the machine readable scanning wouldn't be available if you do that

I haven't ever used ebay international standard but since they do go to a depot in the US before being processed I suspect that they would put some sort of marking or number in the address so that they know the package is part of that program. What I would do is "pretend' to print a label and then select ebay international standard to see if they show any special info on the label so that you can make sure that is included. It might already show up in your order details but I'm suggesting this so that you can doublecheck. As long as you don't click on print you can x out of that page to get out of the label area.

Actually, international standard gets sent to a number of depots in the US including Kentucky. I imagine that it depends on the seller's location.

You can ship it direct to Canada with USPS @kellensellsit. There's nothing that says you have to use International Standard Delivery service.
Have you ever used QR codes for your labels? Generating a USPS label direct to Canada through eBay will give you the QR code option that can be scanned at the post office. It probably wouldn't work for ISD since those labels have extra info printed on them, but you could use it for USPS First Class International.
If you want to ship ISD for cost savings then go to Staples or the library and use their computer to print the label. There will be a fee. Or download the label and e-mail it to a friend to print for you.
It's a good time to get a printer. There are so many deals happening this weekend.
The cost savings on shipping with online labels vs paying at the retail counter will pay the printer off in no time. Get an eco tank ink jet or a cheap laser printer.

After your item sells, select the “eBay international standard” option when you print a shipping label with eBay Labels for buyers in destinations outside of the US. Drop off your package at any US post office or schedule a pick-up.

@pjcdn2005 International Standard goes through USPS. Would you like more details on the subject?

You missed the next line after your quote...
USPS will transport the item to our domestic consolidation center where the package will be screened and forwarded to your buyer.
In a few cases ebay international standard has the seller ship directly to the buyer via USPS. I've only read about that happening with some packages going to Canada although it may happen more often than I'm aware of. The majority of the time, those packages are sent to a depot in the US and I believe they are forwarded by DHL.

@pjcdn2005 So, we're wrong.
This is not an eBay direct operation. Sender needs to fill in all paperwork. If anything wrong with the package and paperwork, package will be returned to sender
Plus, all shipping has to be done by USPS and their affiliates in other countries
This is not GSP, it's discounted shipping as the above link explains
As where would be the locations of Depots, I don't think, it makes any difference
Sorry, really, don't want to go back and forth
