Setting up pickup with FedEx using eBay label

I sold an item on eBay and got the shipping label fedex thru eBay. I then tried to schedule a pickup thru fedex and they advised that eBay labels are not eligible for pickup, but if I call eBay they may be able to set it up. Right now eBay is not doing phone support and I am medically not allowed to deliver my package to a dealer. I was able to ship USPS, but that cost an extra $12. Can anybody explain how to schedule a pickup for fedex?

Setting up pickup with FedEx using eBay label

You need to have your own FedEx account.  When you ship FedEx through ebay, you are using their FedEx account and they are the shipper of record.

You might want to look into shipping UPS, which ebay offers through PayPal, it uses your own UPS account.

Remember pickup by FedEx or UPS is not free.  Check the rates on their websites.

And even  @masseymustang if you were able to have eBay schedule FedEx to pickup, the pickup fee would eat the $12 you saved. More, FedEx frequently backhands that

- the dimensions and weight are larger, and

- you used the wrong box,

so you'll see those extra  charges on  your eBay invoice.

Instead, since FedEx does not bill eBay until the label is scanned, it's not too late to abandon the FedEx label and switch to a USPS label now.

Pickup charge is $3 per package for scheduled pickup, or $4 per package for same day pickup.

Is that the same everywhere?  Residential/business, rural/urban, etc.?
