Send Invoice on a Sold Item

We had an item for sale that was listed as local pickup only, as it was a heavy and oddly shaped.  Right away a customer put in a bid and advised he would pay for shipping.  You cannot edit a listing once you have a bid.  So now the customer won the auction and has paid for the item (without shipping).  How can I now send him an invoice for the shipping?  You have to have an email to send an invoice via PalPal.  The dropdown on the sold item does not have an option for sending an invoice.

Thank you

It's possible that I could be way off here, but I have a feeling that your buyer has no idea how much that would cost to ship, plus the difficulty of packaging, which, BTW, YOU would be doing, not the shipping company.

Personally, I would cancel, and explain the reasons to the buyer.

Don't cancel yet, get a shipping quote and send it to them.  Then, you can offer to cancel (or not, they were told no shipping or close the unpaid item.   I'd just send it with a note for now, just to see what they say.

Right, because payment (for the item as stated) has already been made. If you look at the item on your Orders page, the Actions column has a pulldown menu with a link for View Order Details. (Don't confuse that with the View Payment Details link, which is further up in the same menu.)

View Order Details will show an encrypted eBay email address for the buyer for two weeks after the sale, which can be used to send him email from the outside world. It will also show the buyer's phone number (indefinitely), which would be the quickest way to contact him and find out what his intentions  are for picking it up.
