Russian post shipping

I am a new ebay user. Won a camera on bid. Seller sent the camera on May 20 via Russian Post to be delivered in Canada. The estimated delivery date was 20 July. On July 1, there was an update in tracking, "Processing in Canada". After that there is no update. One week passed after the estimated delivery date.

What should I do now?

Russian post shipping

@muhamah_3600,

If the tracking says it is "Processing in Canada", that means that Canada Post has received the package, and is processing it. So this delay doesn't have anything to do with the Russian post, it's within Canada. The best thing to do will be to following up with Canada Post, and start a lost mail inquiry.

Many Canadian provinces have just started to ease up on travel restrictions, and allow businesses to begin to open again. Delays due to COVID are still very real, so the chances are that your package is just delayed. Last December, my packages going into and out of Canada were all very much delayed.

You have up to 30 days after the last estimated delivery date to file a case for Item Not Received in the Resolution Centre on eBay Canada. I would start the lost mail inquiry, and give them some time to try to locate it, but don't let the 30 day deadline pass before you start the INR case if you haven't received it before then.

Russian post shipping

Thanks a lot for the details. Really appreciate it.

Tried to open a case in Canada Post Website. They don’t recognise the russian post tracking number. So, couldn’t raise a ticket!

Should I raise ticket in another place? Am I missing anything?

I could be wrong but as far as I know, Canada post will only allow the sender to open a lost mail request and in this case, it would have to be opened with the Russian service since that's where the label was paid for.

Where are you seeing the tracking right now..on ebay?  If Canada Post received the parcel I don't think that the tracking number would have changed so perhaps they never received it?   Since it has been over 2 months since the purchase, I might wait a few more days and then file an item not received claim with ebay.
