Retail Ground vs Parcel Select

Some months ago on the Selling board it was suggested that since Dimensional Weight calculation changes were made that it is cheaper (for the buyer) for me to tote parcels to the post office and buy Retail Ground labels there, rather than print an eBay label for Parcel Select or Priority Mail (my method of choice for breakables). Apparently the DIM changes hit the online labels for PM and PS, but not the in person Retail Ground/Parcel Post pricing only available at the PO. Is that still correct? If it is still correct, do you think this is an oversight that will eventually change, or did the USPS do this on purpose? Have several large pitchers I'm thinking are best set out at a garage sale for $5, then if they don't sell in my front yard I'll just crash them into the trash can, one on top of the other, just to hear the sound of the breaking pottery! I've seen the way the Salvation Army pickup guys toss boxes in the back of their truck, and I don't see the point in spending the time and effort to wrap each pitcher to withstand man handling. Such fun pieces, and I've enjoyed having them on display, but a shame I can't find them a new home now that we are downsizing.

They didn’t say it was your fault. They said they blame you.

Yes, that's still true. Changes in USPS rates are announced months in advance, usually in October for implementation in January..

Keep trying to re home them, because of the enjoyment that they provided , they likely deserve that.

Good luck

Don't despair yet until you make a careful calculation of weight and package size and see what retail ground price the usps gives you for the zone that you ship from. It might be lower than you think. You may not get buyers from 2000 miles away, but you don't need them if you can await a closer buyer. I've been surprised twice now.
