So sold an item and got tracking information. Buyer refused to accept delivery and now has claimed they haven't received it. Royal mail say they will return to sender or get rid if no return address provided. Haven't put a return address on the parcel as didn't realise that was a thing. Will the buyer be refunded now if they refused it and have claimed never received when they clearly have? Or will I be out of pocket for not providing my home address on the parcel

You might want to pose your question on the UK site, as Royal mail procedures could be different from the US.
Have you contacted the buyer and asked why they refused to receive their purchase?
Are you saying you did not put a return address on the outside of the parcel? In the US, the PO would have refused that package. How do you figure it can be returned to you?

You are posting on the USA page; you might want to ask on your home page in the UK.
In the USA all packages are required to have a return address. Don't know what Royal Mail requires or if tracking would get it back to you, so would be hard to answer your question about it getting returned.
As far as refund goes, again, I would check with your home board or check the help section to see what the rules are, your rules may be different than ours.

Assuming that the UK rules are the same as they are in the US, if the buyer files an item not received claim, you can enter the tracking number in the case showing that it was delivered and refused. The case should be found in your favour and buyers lose ebay buyer's protection if they refuse a package. If you do receive the parcel back, the right thing to do would be to refund the buyer less the cost of original shipping.
I'm curious, don't the UK labels automatically put your return address on parcels?

The OP won’t receive the item back because he failed to put a return address on the package.
Kinda hard for postal service to return it when they don’t know where to return it.

As @pjcdn2005 said, this could have been an easy win for you but since you ship without tracking, you cannot win INR since you have no proof that it was refused nor is there even proof that you ever shipped it! (How do you even know the buyer refused it?)
You're going to owe the buyer a refund.
And from now on, ship with tracking.

With Royal Mail you have a tick box option to include your address on the label or not. But even if you don't include it on the label it must still be in the system somewhere.
Unless the address is just hand written on.

Here our royal USPS records internally both the sender and recipient addresses for each tracking number, so that parcel has a return address, both for legal remedy as well as for its return.

Even if there's no tracking number? OP shipped without tracking and without a return address.

I shipped WITH tracking. Just no return address

If people can stop being rude about not putting on a return address. Here in the UK that's not a thing, so wind it in. Not a regular seller and YES the post office have taken this and all my previous parcels without return address. Didn't realise there was a UK site but I'll post there too, perhaps they'll be kinder!!!

You return here by sending them the label with your address on only if needs, we don't just readily hand out our home addresses...

Thank you for your help and no, you handwrite on the address and hand it to the worker who puts the barcode and confirms the address sending to and that's it. Off it goes.

Sounds like the "barcode" might have your return address to return it to you or even the tracking might have where package came from.
Buyer refused delivery I assume you would win.
And hopefully package is returned as well.
