I printed some labels tonight for items that I will be shipping out tomorrow. I used the drop-down menu to select tomorrows date for the labels. The record on the buyers page says shipped today. My question is, does this now mean the package requires a scan before midnight on an item I selected to ship tomorrow??? I don't want to mess up my metrics for "items scanned on time"!
Also, some items I drop off at FedEx a day before I am required to ship them, but it is after the cut-off time for the ground transportation so will ship the following day. Even though It's "early" do those also require catching the transportation truck? (FedEx does scan them, even though they miss the truck, so if a scan is all that is needed, no worry!)
thanks,

Ship within your stated handling time. With USPS, the date on the label really doesn't matter unless it's over a price change weekend and you're printing in advance at the old rates then not shipping until later when the new rates go into effect.
I don't ship with FedEx that often, but I think they follow the same basic principle as what I wrote above about USPS.

Hiya wastingtime...I appreciate your reply, but it doesn't really answer the question of whether a scan is required prior to midnight on the day the label is made despite having the next days date set up. (For the "tracking uploaded and scanned on time" sellers metric). One would expect to be safe from that by using the menu option for putting the next day as the shipping date?

I'll simplify my above post @dippitydoo:

The package needs to be scanned as accepted within your handling time regardless of what the label date is or what "shipped' date shows to the buyer.

When the label is made means you shipped even though you only made the label. Ship it tomorrow as planned.
