Hi - An international buyer purchased two CDs from me, and paid shipping twice (I didn't have combined shipping on). Normally I'd just mail them as two separate packages (which I thought was necessary for multiple international orders from same buyer anyway) - but the evtn # is the same for both CDs. I don't want to have a situation where it shows him only getting one. So my question is - am I still supposed to send these separately, or do I send them in one package and just refund the additional shipping cost? Thanks in advance.

If they have the same evtn# then that means they are associated with the same order #, correct? This was a single order (transaction) with 2 items and not 2 separate orders?
If the answer to that is yes, then you ship together.
eBay International Shipping does combine in some categories.
You can set up automatic combined shipping rules for the domestic portion so future buyers won't face higher charges.

Thanks for the reply - they are associated with the same order - it shows as a single transaction - BUT I just noticed that each item in the order has it's own individual place where I can upload tracking - so it's possible for me to send these separately with two different tracking numbers, despite the evtn# being the same.

No, you need to ship them together @obscurenoise .

Is the evtn # in ebay's global shipping addresses the same thing as what they used to call "reference number?" I had a similar problem years back but back then they had "reference numbers" not evtns. Just to be clear - these were two separate listings that have two separate item numbers, the person paid shipping twice, and each item has it's own space where I can enter tracking. Unless something has changed, ebay doesn't normally let you upload the same tracking number for multiple items. So how do I prove both items got there? What's to stop the buyer from saying he only received one?

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner @obscurenoise . I'll simplify it as much as possible:
Same evtn# means items have to ship in the same package.
Different evtn#s means items have to ship separately.
No need to worry about claims as all you need is delivery confirmation to the eIS hub in the US. From there eBay takes possession, does an inspection, then forwards to the buyer. If they spot a problem during inspection they will let you know. If it passes inspection and gets forwarded to the buyer, eBay handles any claims.
Does that answer your questions? If you have more please @ tag me so I'll see your reply. 🙂
