Question about Refunds: HELP!

I am a seller that doesn't sell a lot, here is my question:

A person wanted a refund because they bought the wrong nail polish, so I sent a refund through Paypal and the refund went through.  But now I realized that I also need to cancel the order on ebay.

If I cancel the order on ebay, will it also try to refund the item back to the buyer again, as I already refunded it. See the screen shot below.

Tell us why you want to cancel this order.

Why do you want to cancel this order?

Yes, you still need to run the cancel through eBay.  Don't worry about the refund portion of it as you've already refunded.  It can't refund more than you have from that transaction.

If not, you will not be credited for your eBay selling fees - AND a refund without a cancellation could trigger a seller non-performance cancellation defect rather than the buyer requested one.  You don't want a defect.

Re: Question about Refunds: HELP!

You choose "Buyer Requested" as the reason.

Since you've already refunded, there is nothing more they can get from you.  You will get your seller fees credited though.

Next time don't do it from PayPal.  Do it through eBay from the start.  You won't even have to log into PayPal when you issue the refund through the eBay cancellation.

Yes, you should still file the cancellation.  Too late now, but I would have told them to return the polish and then refunded since it wasn't an error on your part.
