Problem with seller

I purchases a expensve item and after about 5 days later the seller messaged me saying the there was some defects in the item and they where cancleing the transaction and issueing a refund about 2 days after that they uploaded a tracking number for a package that was delivered in new you (i live in michigan) and on the transaction details it says cancle pending expect a refund in 3-5 days and i havent gotten a refund yet and its been 2 weeks i wrote the seller and they responded with a refund was issued please ignore the tracking that says delivered my question is do i keep waiting or do i open a item not recived case? Im not sure why it still says cancle pending? Did it stop the refund when he uploaded the wrong tracking saying it was delivered in ny? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Do not open an Item not Received case,  your seller will use the tracking number that shows delivery to win the case. Contact ebay and have them read the messages that you exchanged with the seller. Also make sure thst they understand that the package was delivered to New York.  Come back if you need more help.

Sounds like the same zip code tracking number scam.  You need to get a letter from the shipper, an email will do saying that tracking number did not go to your address.  That is not always easy but keep an it. I hope you paid by credit card as you always should.    You can try and click the help and contact link at lower right of this page and explain to an ebay rep the scam that the seller has pulled.

If so the tracking is a mess, and at least shows not to your address::

since refund is pending I would wait a bit and see if it goes through before opening a case of not received.

Make sure what your ship to address is on your account.

No worries: open a case with Ebay, show them the seller's emails, and Ebay will force a refund.
