I am shipping a large item (barbecue grill) via priority mail, and saw these two options. I'm assuming I pick the large package one, but otherwise they look exactly identical? Can somebody help me understand what the difference is? If I just pick the prioriy mail package option USPS won'tship it?

Packages: Includes anything up to 84", when measuring the distance of the longest side, plus twice the width and twice the height.
Large Packages: Includes anything from 84" - 108", when measuring the distance of the longest side, plus twice the width and twice the height.

@xzibit86132 USPS Parcel Select goes up to 130" Girth plus one Length. Priority Large goes to 108" Girth plus one length and Reg Priority goes to 84" I believe on Girth plus one length.
Say your package is 36L x 18W x 18H your total inches would be 108 (18 x 18 x 18 x18 Girth + 36L). So it would qualify for the Priority Large Package. But double check, they may have a L dimension limit that could force the package to their Dimensional Weight category ("balloon rate" I heard it referenced as) which means the cost would go up.
FedEx Ground is another option ...

What are the dimensions of the package?

Thanks a lot everyone. Why don't they show this information on ebay.com or usps.com??
Because USPS desn't use "Large" at all, that's just something eBay made up. And it's completely unnecessary; if you just chose regular Package, the correct postage will be calculated based on the dimensions you provide even if they are over a threshold for a surcharge. If the length-plus-girth of your package is over 108 inches, you won't be able to use Priority Mail.
