Postal Service Parcel delivery stinks.

I have been waiting for a package to travel from Harrisburg PA to my home town post office since Sept. 9th.
The Postal Service took it over from Fed Ex on Sept. 3rd and it has not been updated since.
Harrisburg PA is supposed to be Martinsburg WV's next day service center and it first said delivery on Sept. 5th.
Then Sept. 9th. Then Sept. 13th. Now, who knows WHERE the damned package is !
I have a customer waiting for me to install the items and is mad at me, as if I can do anything to make the Postal Service speed up!
Pitiful. And I will NOT order anything ever again if shipping involves the Postal Service. Period.

They must have shipped it Fed Ex Smart Post. The last leg of the delivery is through USPS. YES, they are having problems still with deliveries. The one’s that pass through several sorting facilities seem to take the longest. If Fed Ex took care of the whole deal it would have been there yesterday.

These are not easy times, look around you. Everyone should remain calm and be kind.

I'm a mail carrier.

How SmartPost works is FedEx drops of wrapped pallets  with one large barcode at your delivering Post Office. The barcode is supposed to contain the information for each individual package on that pallet.

We often have packages that are not on that list included on the pallet. Sometimes these are not even SmartPost and are for other locations. We also have packages listed that are not on the pallet. FedEx is very sloppy with SmartPost operations'.  When we get packages that are not for our office we call FedEx and they send a "recovery truck" now mind this comes from nearly 2 hours away and can take them a week or more to pick it up. We can't just hand it back to the SmartPost delivery driver (when UPS makes a mistake we call and the closest truck swings through and picks it up usually within the hour).

Most likely your package was included on the bill of lading but not oon the pallet. Once we get the SmartPost packages they are delivered without delay (we simply do not have the room in any office to let them sit). Carriers take them the same day if no one has left for the routes  at delivery time. If not they are sorted to the routes for the following days delivery. When I return from delivering my route I usually check through my cart and get an idea of what the next days deliverys will include.

I ship 2000 packages a year with USPS,there in no reason for me to ever change
