Post Office Scanning Packages

Recently, I had to change the Post Office I was using, because my local office wasn't scanning my packages that I left on the counter. They only scanned them if I stood in line.

Re: Post Office Scanning Packages

@laserpartshq   So what's the problem with standing in line and getting the Acceptance scan?  When you changed post offices did you also change the zip code so the new post office gets the credit for the postage you paid?  POs around here get a little testy at times if we ship too many packages from a different Post Office, while they get the package credit they don't get the postage credit.

Is there an easy way to do that now days? We have a satellite post office near to us that has it's very own unique zip code. With the old label page format, it was easy to change the outgoing zip code. Now it wants me to actually go into my account and set up a new Ship From address. And when I try that, it tells me the zip code is invalid for my street address.  Am I missing something? Thanks.

@rebell45   @laserpartshq   You have to change the ship from address to the post office address and zip if the new post office is in a different zip code so that they get full credit.

I think that standing in line beats driving farther... but that's just me.   We are very fortunate to have a statelite post office just a couple miles from our house.  Our main post office for our zip is about 10 + min drive each way depending on traffic.

You have to use the street address(or just general delivery) of the place that you are shipping from.

Just be sure to check the box that says "return address is different from shipping address", so the label retains your address, and just changes the ship from zip.

I have 5 alternate "ship from" added to our accounts.

Re: Post Office Scanning Packages

Yep:

and that fist one should be reported due to such make it easy for Postal employees to steal unscanned packages:

No scan no delivery to PO. Item does not exist to the PO.
