I was recently consigned a high value piece of jewelry to sell and was dismayed to find that FEDEX and UPS limit insurance for jewelry shipments to only $1,000. FEDEX has a specialized Jewelry Shipping program, but it's basically just for jewlers and dealers and I'm not eligible to qualify for it, so I had to look elsewhere.
I stumbled across Parcel Pro in an online search and found that they're a specialized insurance broker for those that deal with jewelry, watches, collectibles, etc. They were purchased by UPS a few years ago, but I seem to be able to purchase shipping services for both UPS and FEDEX with them, which includes discounted rates on the insurance.
My question is what has your experience been using Parcel Pro? Have you ever had to make a claim, and if so, how did it go? Is there any form of eBay integration that you have found to streamline the use of this service? So far the rep says that they only have Magento integration, which is a platform that appears to be waay out of my price range. Any feedback would be appreciated.
