I get this on occasion.  It's your USPS driver scanning packages as delivered before they actually leave the carrier facility.  It can create havoc with both buyers and sellers who pay attention to tracking.  Pretty much boils down to the driver trying to save themselves time on their route, at your expense.

Do you mean that the message doesn't arrive until 1-2 days after the package, or that the package doesn't arrive until 1-2 days after the message?

That message should be triggered by a Delivered status on your tracking number. Go to the shipping carrier's own website (not eBay) and look up the tracking number there to see what the real timing of your shipment was. In my experience, it takes eBay around 6-8 hours to send me a Delivery notification about a package I received earlier that afternoon.

The message arrives from Ebay before the package.

Try to catch your carrier one of these days and ask him/her about it. Since it is supposed to be the carrier's delivery scan that prompts the email, your carrier may have some kind of explanation.

Oh. I really thought you were going to say that it was the other way around.

Yes, as above, print up your tracking info and that eBay message, and take it to your carrier or your post office to ask them what's going on.

The delivery message from eBay is (supposed to, at least) be triggered by the carrier's scanning the package as Delivered, and that scan is supposed to be when he actually drops it on your doorstep, so if he's being a sillybuggers and scanning items as Delivered in advance of actually delivering them (especially if he's doing that a day or more in advance), someone higher up needs to know about it.

Hi,

sometimes its shows item is delivered but its not deliver in actual means you need to call your local post office immediately and inquire them about product instead of contacting seller, seller cannot help you with that, sometimes carrier has lazy guys, they update in system deliver and they deliver in next two days if this status showing deliver  on weekend means there are chances you will get it on monday , if its in normal working days than contact your local post office immediately before its get too late, i am seller and its happen often with buyers due to local post office carelessness, and as buyer contact local post office it get deliver otherwise you will not receive package.hope its help.

I would check the tracking, and if it too shows delivery before delivery is actually made, speak with your carrier.
