I used to live in Key West, FL and recently transferred from there. I always hated when my tracking showed that the item I sent is going through Opa Locka. The reason being is that the packages seem to take longer to leave there. Most of my packages that got lost always stopped there. About a year ago, I requested USPS track one of my packages and they came back and told me inspectors found two containers full of mail and packages that Opa Locka post office forgot about and that it might be in one of those. After no movement for a month, the tracking showed package moving. Luckily, I had a very understanding repeat customer.
So in my opinion, Opa Locka has alway been slow and it is typical to see a delay whenever it goes through that postal system when things are normal. I can only imagine with the COVID-19 crisis, they will be even more delays.
Sorry, this doesn't answer your question as to what is going on there now at the moment. However, this post office has a reputation of being slow.
