Please for the love of God stop using it. The incompetents in charge don't update tracking and it takes forever for them to move packages. I currently have two that are almost definitely going to be late as per the eBay delivery window and tracking has remained the same for over a week.
If you're too cheap to go to the post office please find a shipper with a better rating. (OSM is almost universally hated according to Google)

Not sure what OSM is, but it's not a service Ebay offers as a shipping partner here in the USA (that I can see)

OSM Worldwide is a domestic and international shipping service. Sellers do not have to ship through an eBay shipping partner. They can ship with any service they choose.

Absolutely, they don't have to but they should probably consider going with a shipping service that doesn't drive people up the wall. Hell, shipping directly through USPS isn't that expensive. Unless you want to go through package delivery giants like UPS and FedEx why would you hand off your package to some third-party and likely third-rate piece of garbage service?

I bought from a local ebay seller. Went from their shop across the river from me (I wanted to support local) then to York PA to Warrendale PA back to York. I sent message this a.m. to seller as well as OSM or is it OMG.

OSM is bouncing my package around.

I wish sellers would state if they use OSM because I sure as heck would not buy anything from them.
This is the third time I've bought a book from sellers who use them and every time the tracking states
that OSM picked it up but a week later it still hasn't been given to USPS. I'm sick and tired of
contacting the sellers who do absolutely nothing about it and then have to wait past the expected delivery date to file a claim.
I should not have to contact sellers to ask if they use OSM but I guess that's the only thing I can do anymore.
With all the complaints about OSM I think it's time that Ebay steps in and bans sellers from using them.

Agree 100% -- I would *NEVER* purchase ANYTHING, be it on eBay or otherwise, if sellers and companies were upfront about their use of OSM Worldwide.
OSM Worldwide is a complete garbage company, with non-existent customer service. They have zero regard for customers and no accountability. Shippers and companies should be honestly ashamed of themselves for choosing to (apparently?) save a buck and use OSM.

esus is no bargain either. Seller defense would be: item is too small of an amount for tracking by usps. Would make seller raise price of item.
esus/ebay shows item delivered. Maybe means to next postal station. Holding my breath. If it delivered, seller probably not refund your $.

What are talking about eBay eBay sellers use osm all the time and their service is horrible

And yet as a seller I've had FOUR sales go through the eBay system via OSM (originating by me shipping via USPS), and I've had ZERO problems occur with getting to my buyers. Additionally, I ordered a (huge!) book that originates in the UK (but may have been in a warehouse here in the U.S.), via one of the bookseller sites (NOT eBay) -- and they utilized OSM to get it to USPS, and I got that large item pretty quickly.
Note that when there are not updates in the USPS system, that usually means that the package is in transit from the previous hub/facility to the next one. That doesn't happen instantly, the package has to physically move, y'know.
Obviously you and I have had very different experiences.

It's not always about sellers "using" OSM. My experience has been with foreign sales. I usually indicate I will ship only to the U.S. But people in foreign countries can utilize eBay to get that package to them -- and they PAY eBay themselves to get that package to them. Sort of freaked me out when it first occurred, and I shipped (via USPS) the sold item to a facility in a suburb fairly nearby. I later found out that was OSM, and they handled the further delivery to the final (foreign) destination. So I may indicate a shipping charge of $8 or whatever, which buyer will pay along with the item price to get to the particular facility (in this case OSM), but buyer has also paid eBay an extra fee to get it from that facility to their destination.

I've never had a problem as a seller with purchases that were rerouted by eBay to foreign destinations utilizing OSM.
