I just received an Arkscan 2054a. It replaced an inkjet printer which printed in landscape. Set it up including drivers, etc. Prints fine except for the labels in landscape as seen in the picture. I watched a few youtube videos on how to configure all the setting both in windows and on ebay. Everything looks correct but yet it still prints as seen in photos. I've already wasted at least 6 labels trying to get this resolved. Also when I go into print settings and print a test page it prints in portrait but for some reason the ebay labels will not. I appreciate any help. Thank you

Set your browser to open PDF files with Adobe, and not its built in reader/viewer.
Open your label printer’s Printer Preferences from the Control Panel and select the correct label size.
On the ebay shipping page, at the upper right under Order Details scroll down and click on Show More. Then at the bottom click on “Change” and select PDF and below that the label size you are using (4x6).
Create a USPS label as usual and click print. It should open in an Adobe PDF print window.
Change the Target Printer at the top in the pull down menu, if needed.
Adobe print options should be set to Actual Size and Auto Orientation. For 4” x 6” size labels, check the box for “Choose paper source by PDF page size”.
Preview of the label should be properly shown in the format outline. Print your label.

Hi. Thanks for your detailed response. I did everything you said and this is what I got. I don't get it. I guess I have to call the company tomorrow. Frustrating. Thanks for trying!

It's also printing the label receipt portion which I don't want printing. This of course has happened many times with the old printer as well, sometimes completely randomly without ever having changed any settings.

On ebay you have to pick 4x6 labels and turn off the option for "printing instructions". I think you access the ability to change the label from the right hand side it'll give you an option like "view more" or "more options" you click that and it lets you pick between 4x6 and 8x11. Looks like you're in 8x11 with an instruction page.
Also don't print directly from ebay, you should download adobe reader, set your browser to open pdfs in adobe reader and then print from adobe. Printing from ebay sometimes makes the barcodes unreadable with a thermal printer.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I do not see any option for disabling the printing instructions. I was just searching old forum posts about this and it's baffling. Also, I have it set to 4x6 and pdf on the print label page as directed from the member who first responded. I have the labels open to adobe now instead of through chrome. And I followed the first responders instructions from there without success.

I'm getting this message at the top of the print label page: Please be aware that USPS is experiencing issues at the moment. We apologise for any inconvenience and if affected, ask that you try again later.
Maybe that has something to do with it not printing correctly even with the proper settings.

I clicked the "Preview" link on the print label page under Print Format and it printed the sample label through adobe in portrait as it should be. So why are the actual ebay labels flipping 90 degrees?

Ok, I finally noticed the receipt/instructions checkbox under the 8x11" size but it does not give any option to enable or disable for the 4x6" size (ie no checkbox). If that's case why is the label receipt still printing? This is aggravating.

For a thermal printer, try selecting "Printable Label" as the shipping label format and "PNG" as the print format on eBay. You do have to make these selections before you purchase the label, so you can either void the current label and try again or adjust your settings next time.
After your eBay settings are correct, purchase the label, select "Print Label", and a new window should open with a label preview. Select your printer, then select 4x6 as the paper size.

Hi. Thanks for your response. That actually did work for me. The label printed in portrait just as it should. The only issue I have is I had to save the image to my computer then open it in order to print. Just equals a lot more work for something that used to be one or two clicks from ebay and label was printed. I sure didn't expect this label printer to be this complex. I wouldn't even have got another printer if it wasn't for the generic ink not being recognized which I tried everything under the sun to remedy.

That part does stink, BUT if you're ever in a situation where you have to file a claim with USPS, you have to submit a copy of the label with the claim. It might be a blessing in disguise :^)

See you got the 4x6 label selected, but you don't need to save the label then print. The problem is your browser is set to "save" rather than "open" PDF files. So you need to change that. Also make sure you selected "PDF" not "PNG" for the format in ebay.
Also best to open in Adobe. For Chrome you need to download the Adobe plugin so your can open from the browser. Note that Chrome sometimes reverts back to its built in reader. For ebay/PayPal shipping, that can be a problem, especially when using a thermal label printer.
