Medium Mailing Tube

Hello,

I can't seem to be find any helpful info on USPS website...

Is medium mailing tube (USPS triangle box, roughly 36"x6"x4") considered "normal" priority shipping (based on weight and distance) or there are flat rates such as for small/medium/large boxes flat rates?

Thank you!

The triangular "tubes" are not flat rate, so they ship by weight, distance, and dimensions. In the case of the 36-inch version there is a surcharge of $15, which is imposed by USPS on any package with a length over 30 inches, starting last April.

The "small" triangular tube, with a length of about 25 inches, incurs the $4 surcharge that is applied to packages with a length over 20 inches (but not over 30 inches).

As @nobody*s_perfect stated, all correctly, that $15 'surcharge' is ON TOP of the weight/distance price.

So what used to ship for $25 (pre- April 2022) will now be $40.
