I am not yet in MP, but do not understand how I would give a partial refund with my checking acct. Hopefully someone who is in MP can answer this. Paypal was easy to give a partial refund, like say one tiny thing broke in the whole lot. It is really too bad we have no access to the MP discussion board until we are actually in MP as it would be very helpful. Thanks.

Go to your Manage All Orders screen.
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
To the left of the order number 00~00000~00000 click on the arrow pointing downward.
Click on choice #11 Send Refund.
This can be a partial or full refund and this feature was added in July of 2019.
The buyer does not have to start a return for you to use this feature.
The refund will be deducted from your pending funds in managed payments.
If you do not have enough funds in the pipeline within managed payments, the refund will be deducted from your checking account.

I am not in MP but did some search. The only recent thing I found was this mention from march 2020 from a poster who is in MP (whatever it is worth):
"Full refunds go smoothly as do partial refunds. They either take the refund out of a pending payment or add it to your monthly statement."

Full or partial refund in MP is very similar to a PP refund. It's not a problem.

^^^ This information is not quite correct, although it used to be.
Refunds now are first pulled from Pending Payments. If there are not enough to cover the refund, your new Pending Payments will build toward the short funds for up to 21 days. After 21 days (if there's still a shortage), they are billed to your bank account or selected invoice payment method. They no longer wait and bill your invoice.

@martin2001 , @az93 ... Looks like no more 21 day wait.
Here's THE LATEST from the Help page.
If you don’t have enough in your Available for payout or Pending funds to cover the full amount of a refund, we’ll charge your payout bank account or automatic payment method, depending on your preference, to cover the remaining amount. For example, if you issued a $100 refund to the buyer and you have a Pending funds balance of $80, we’ll charge your payout bank or automatic payment method for the remaining $20.

Thank you for the update, I appreciate it. As was noticed below, I'll also find out soon.
