Mail Delays

I had 7 packages ship out on January 9th. They had no scans nor showed any movement until January 18th. USPS sent me a confirmation email stating they were picked up on the 9th & we had a video capture of the pick up as well. Anyone else experiencing similar problems? I had a package mailed to Houston, TX on Jan 5th. It went through Missouri, TX sorting center on Jan 8th and has been processing at the USPS Facility in Houston, TX since Jan 16th.  The buyer has messaged me several times about late arrival and I've told them to open a Missing Item Case with USPS and Item Not Received Request with eBay.  They have failed to do either of these things and instead put in a Negative Feedback Rating for my store.  I put in a Missing Mail Search Request with USPS on Jan 20th myself but the buyer just keeps messaging me and complaining.  I'm not sure what to do at this point.  I want to refund the buyer but I did everything I could as a seller and the delay is on the part of the postal deliver service. I also want the negative feedback to be removed since I don't believe it is valid due to the circumstances.  If I refund the buyer can I still request to have the feedback removed?

I live in Houston and drop my stuff off right at the post office and this has been happening for weeks! I didn't realize until it hit the news over the weekend what was going on at the post office... who changes over systems during December, what idiot made that call!! I knew they were incompetent and lazy... but geez! My customers have been great, I try to email them everyday to keep them informed but my late algorithm is taking a beating!! I hope Ebay makes an adjustment for us! 🙁  Until this is fixed I am going to have to switch to UPS.

Houston, we have a problem!

I have one sent the 13th and "tracking" still says it will arrive on the 17th 😂

I tried submitting a form for a lost package on Sat the 20th, and it too said that the package was "due to arrive on the 17th" and asked if I still wanted to submit the lost package search request. 

Got it all filled out and I got an error that said something went wrong and to please try again later. 

I did find that USPS hired a new Senior VP of Logistics and Facilities in Sept of 2023 (actually created the new position). Thing is, his main focus is electric vehicles. 

I wonder if he's even aware of the issue in Houston.

Houston seller here, about to put my store on vacation mode because of the shipping delays.

I have found that when filling out a lost package form online at USPS. When I fill out the form after hours (evening time) when I hit submit the error message shows up, but when I fill out form during daytime hours it has gone threw. Hope this helps.

Got it all filled out and I got an error that said something went wrong and to please try again later.

 That seems to be a VERY common occurance lately when trying to file research cases. It is the P S equivalent of someone putting a Do Not Disturb sign on a  hotel door  or leaving the phone off the hook.

I am facing the same issue with 2 of my eBay stores. I am now giving customers the option to either upgrade to UPS (for a fee) or cancel their order. I refuse to ship knowing that the shipments will arrive weeks past the expected arrival. I have called eBay and they seem to have no knowledge of the issue. Are sellers notifying eBay?

North Houston and St. Louis are a DISASTER right now. Anything I have going to Texas now goes USPS/FedEx.

Here is a good one.... I went to file a missing mail search at USPS.com. Went through all the tracking stuff to get to the "form". Their note says that I am not eligible to file a missing mail search until 1/22/24......uhhhhh, its 1/26/24..... this is on one stuck in North Houston. I guess they just turned off the missing mail searches for this facility...??

You are shipping USPS ground Advantage ?    I had seller  from North Hoston   and I got  4  days after Bought it  on 1/24 /24.    you  and  the other seller option is   priority   or UPS  and FedEx  ground .

Yes. Buyer. Lost package in Houston. Lots of items not going anywhere and are weeks late. but i've been on here a long time and figured something strange is going on. Thanks for your post!
