Hi to all members....
Back in beginning of December 2022. I mailed 2 boxes (USPS) from FL. VHS (12 to 15 each) tapes were lost to a buyer in upstate NY. I opened a case with the post office. I mailed them media mail with tracking and used the ebay labels. I was able to speak to supervisor at the NY. and Florida Office locations. They said probably ended up in Atlanta facility.....and maybe the label was torn off. I usually tape around the labels but not the bar codes. This may have been a problem. I now make sure I tape over the address. I ended up refunding the buyer the amount plus shipping. Some of The VHS were good key War film. Not easy to replace. As of today I have not found either box and not sure if they were delivered. The P.O. Has not notified me.... after reviewing with the post office I would have to go to the holding facility to find the boxes. It’s very frustrating after everything you do to secure package and make sure all information is correct. Any advice from other members is welcome. Thanks for your time. Tony in Florida.

Hi,
How did eBay help you with this matter?

eBay doesn’t help with PO issues.

I’ve had media mail go missing for a few days and show up delivered a few days later. I’ve also had media mail be delivered without ever being scanned. Have your buyers opened INR cases? Have they been refunded?
Sorry you’re having this issue.

Keep the receipts for drop off with the USPS. They are key documents. Also - keep tracking the parcel(s). Media mail is the slowest of all services USPS offers & is often ignored until space & man power allows for it's processing. It is also very prone to not being scanned, as previously indicated. If this it still in transit intact with a label, it will eventually ideally get a scan prior to delivery.
That said, if the case is still open with the USPS, for those cases I have filed, they requested details, pictures etc. of everything to do a search. It's their job as carrier to do so. However, again as the slowest service & unless it was financially worth it to USPS to avoid a claim (I put insurance upon items I can't easily afford to see lost - usually $20 & up), they will not likely put significant effort into resolving this. Sucks that items get lost & the carrier acts the way it does. I hope they show up for you. I have only had 2 out of 20 reappear for me.
