Late shipment defect

Hey eBay family! I have a concern which i have reached out to eBay about but it still isn't quite clear and wanted to get some tips/advice for anyone going through this. I have gotten a late defect on an item which i shipped within 24 hours as i do with all purchases. Item was being delivered to a U.S territory island therefore it arrived later than expected which i'm sure all clients living in these islands, are well aware of. For the most part all my shipments arrive before time expected but it seems when it comes to those areas, they will be arriving later no matter if i ship at the exact moment they pay. How can i prevent getting these defects when i believe i do my job in shipping no later than 24 hours? eBay representatives tell me i need to communicate with the postal office to inquire this with them, but the postal office tells me this is the norm. I've already requested to have the defect remove, but what do i do to not have to go through this each time?

I'd really appreciate any advice!

Thank you in advance,

Rafael from B.Alpha.Free

Late shipment defect

You may want to exclude US Protectorates from buying your items.  Shipping is always going to take extra time to those places.

@b.alpha.free

Are you getting the packages scanned or just dropping them off?

Late shipment defect

You need to get the package scanned in the shippers system with in 24 hours if you have one day shipping.  Saturdays/Sundays & USPS Holidays don't count.  You may have to take it to your carrier business location.  We  only use USPS and our carrier picks up and scans in our shipments - we are on friendly terms with her and her subs.  It pays to be nice.

Have  had packages shipped via USPS Priority mail to Guam and other Pacific Ocean US Protectorates and delivery  time was not an issue maybe 1 or 2 days later than shipping to California from GA.

If a late shipment is their only concern, wouldn't it make more sense to make sure that the item is scanned within their handling time so that it doesn't receive a late shipment mark?

@b.alpha.free Late shipment isn't based on WHEN your package actually gets delivered, as that is out of a seller's hands. It's based on when you get your package scanned as accepted by the carrier.  So it seems you didn't get that initial scan on your package when you dropped it off.

Every time you need to stand in line and wait until you get that acceptance scan, as that is your only proof that you actually shipped on time. Just printing the label isn't enough as a seller can then sit on the package a few days before mailing. Leaving the scan up to the carrier will end up in late shipment demerits. Best of luck to you....

I use the self-service to scan in and drop it through their vault

I scan the packages through the self-service machine and drop it through their vault to ensure it is accepted and in their possession.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I normally get the shipping label as soon as the orders come in and drop the packages off at the postal office by using the self-service scanning machine and then dropping them through the vault to ensure the package is in the system and their possession.

I also drop them in the chute...some other ebayers did point out that scanning them in yourself does not really count for some reason

I am a drop and go seller and take my lumps if I get any

to tell you the truth I get many notices of late scanning or whatever it is they call it.

I can also be truthful when I say that ebay descores dozens of them for me.

if you are actually shipping on time then ebay does know it.ebay always knows if you use ebay shipping.

worrying abpout ontime shipping scores is not for me.ebay knows I ship 6 days a week
