I've used eBay for years and this is the first I've ever had this happen.
I had 2 games sold. One was shipped out on the 16th and it was $3.17 to mail. My other game (different than first one) sold and I clicked the "Print Shipping Label" button, and printed the label for $3.50 and sent it out.
Then, a couple of days later, it said that I hadn't shipped the item that I shipped out on the 19th. Somehow the label printed out for the other customer's (from the 16th)address and was sent there. The customer just informed me that they got the other game, knew it wasn't theirs, figured I had a bunch and gave it away.
Spent over an hour on phone with eBay. First they said I reprinted the label. I didn't. Plus reprinting is a completely different process that purchasing. I also was able to pull up my computer history and it shows that I purchased a label on the 19th but it won't show the address and says "The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.."
So clearly I did not reprint. I purchased a label. I couldn't rebuy to that person because I already purchased their label and the "print shipping label" button was not there it was "leave feedback." Also both charges are showing up in my Paypal as 2 separate labels. The boxes weighed the same too. So if I somehow accidentally repurchased the same label the prices would be the same and not different.
eBay escallated the issue to their tech department but we had to refund the buyer and lost the money on the item and we lost the item. Basically they are saying they can't do anything, even with our transaction numbers. It went from "oh you reprinted it" and we showed that wasn't true. Then it went to no reason at all and basically that's too bad.
Has this happened to anyone else?
