Is there a way to remove sales tax from showing on packing slip?

Hi,

Is there a way for sales tax to not show on the packing slip? Maybe there's a setting I need to change. Or is there another form I can print that just shows the sales transaction and shipping cost? Thanks

Is there a way to remove sales tax from showing on packing slip?

The last two packing slips I printed, sales tax is showing in the subtotal. But according to the payment transaction, the buyer only paid me for the item and the shipping.

I need to be able to explain to the buyer if they ask why sales tax is showing on the packing slip, when it's not on my listing. The buyer is from Washington state. Could it be that the sales tax is showing because it's what they have to pay the state and not what they paid me? This is confusing. By the packing slip showing sales tax, it looks like that's what they paid me, but they didn't.

Sam is correct.  It is eBay that is responsible for collecting and remitting the tax on sales delivered in Washington state.  If the buyer questions why he was charged sales tax, refer him to his department of revenue.

I checked one of your listings, and the only sales tax shown was for the 3 states that eBay is (so far) collecting sales tax for, under the state marketplace sales tax laws.

Why would you want to remove the sales tax from the packing slip? Your buyer had to pay it, and they may need an invoice to show what they paid for the item. It is supposed to be there.

If you have been paid, then the buyer has already paid the full amount including sales tax that is shown on the packing slip. So it is correct.

eBay collects the sales tax for the states (3 at the moment) that have passed marketplace sales tax laws. More states are going to be rolled out later this year, and probably more will be added to the list later. These laws make eBay responsible for collecting the tax and remitting it to the state, sellers don't collect it any more for those states.

The packing slip is correct, so don't mess with it, just print it and ship. You're good.
