That would be like getting car insurance after you crash

there are 2 various groups that you can get insurance from on ebay.I used to use one of them many years ago and all insurance could be purchased within 24 hours after shipping.
the insurance was not built into the ebay shipping page.in fact it was imposile to get this insurance while printing the label............it was purchased after the label was printed

How can that be? Are you talking about purchasing insurance up to twenty four hours after the label was printed..not after it was shipped?

Yes, insuring a package after shipment can be done. Shipsurance used to do that, but now it looks like they have a sister site called Insure Post. Quote from their site--InsurePost.com is a website that allows you to insure your shipments while they are in transit. The limit of available coverage is $1000, inclusive of any carrier-sponsored insurance coverage.

they actually banned me after a few claims with no tracking but thats what they insured for overseas.
shipcover and shipsurance were easy to get mixed up

Hey, here is the info from Insure Post, looks like you have a day after acceptance scan to buy insurance. Iguess something can't get too lost in a day?
When do I purchase the coverage?
Typically, our coverage is purchased after a shipping label is generated and you have the tracking/customs details available. When you purchase insurance, we require a tracking or customs number that uniquely identifies your package. We allow coverage to be purchased from one (1) calendar day after the actual shipping date up to three (3) calendar days in advance of the shipment date. As of today, 1/13/2021, in order to insure a shipment with us, the shipment date must fall between 1/12/2021 and 1/16/2021.
