In Transit, Arriving Late.....

I sent a package PRIORITY MAIL to Houston, TX on Wednesday in the AM with an ETA of Friday or Saturday and it still has not arrived.

Either PM means nothing anymore or TX has a lousy postal system.

Opinions?

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

Consider yourself fortunate if it has anything at all in tracking indicating that it's moving. I just had a Priority Mail package delivered to me today that was mailed on April 1st. It tracked leaving the local Post Office on April 2nd, then absolutely nothing until May 6th, when they said it was at the origin points distribution center. THE ORIGIN POINTS DISTRIBUTION CENTER.

It's not just TX that has a lousy Postal system... that's true everywhere. But, at least they have an excuse that at least half of the country will accept – "delayed due to COVID"

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

Not from USA but shipping to USA. Have seen quite a few packages stay for 15~ days at USPS sorting centre.

Reminds me how it was during the start of corona.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

What does the tracking say?  Has it moved since you mailed it?  If it was going thru a DC anywhere near Chicago, I'd be more likely to think the hold up was there.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

USPS is still not operating well. A certain percentage of packages are bound to be held up. It is really a game of Russian Roulette with them still as far as timely deliveries.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

Priority Mail is not guaranteed.  Most PM is delivered in 3-5 days.

The USPS is still experiencing significant delays.

If your buyer is enquiring, provide them the tracking number to assure you shipped and ask them to be patient with the USPS during these difficult times.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

In the future, I'll no longer pay for PM. For me, PM = 2-3 days, not 'whenever'. First Class is for that.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

1.  Priority Mail service  has never been Guaranteed.  USPS delivery times are Estimates.

2,  If your package is 16 oz or over you will have to ship via Priority or USPS Ground (real slow delivery) or use another service - generally more expensive than USPS.

3.  Delivering a package to your local USPS PO early in AM doesn't mean your  package starts  moving to the local Distribution center quicker - generally  they start moving around 4:00 PM

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

FYI  In Transit, Arriving late   Is NOTHING BUT A COMPUTER GENERATED message by the USPS computer system. It   means NOTHING  it is not a scan   Your package may be lost in a corner somewhere but that message will pop up

@wheeler1044

That area of the country has been having some bad weather lately this could have an effect on your delivery.

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

Having the same issue here as a seller in Massachusetts. Package went through New Hampshire (PM distribution center) and the destination was Cleveland Ohio. I know it's sitting at a plant in Cleveland right now, but just not moving. So sad.

Package sent out 4/26. Last scan was 4/28. In transit, Arriving Late is the current status.

My buyer saw May 10th (Today) as the checkout date when she checked out.

Waiting for the inevitable...a possible INR and having to refund her, and then re-routing package back to me via Package Intercept...

Re: In Transit, Arriving Late.....

Then why in the world does eBay not have a notice on the tracking page?  I find that my First Class Mail packages are taking an average of 10 Days to arrive just about anywhere in the USA from North Carolina.   The first DC (Greensboro) takes 2-4 days to process the packages, then each subsequent DC takes another 2-3 days each.   Mail to the West Coast was taking 2-3 days to be delivered total, now it is 10-16 days.

I'm so over it and eBay is not helping with their ridiculous delivery estimates.
