A buyer demanded refund due to delayed USPS shipping. It got delivered to buyer's post office in "waiting to be picked up" status. I requested the item to be sent back to USPS, as postal worker tried to retrieve the package, it got picked up by buyer. I have already refunded the whole amount for the item. how do I go about in getting the refund reversed so I get paid for the merchandise buyer has received? Thank you for your advise.

There is no way to force the buyer to re-pay, but most honest buyers would. I'd contact the buyer, ask if they'd prefer to pay or return the goods, and either send a paypal invoice or prepaid shipping label.
Good luck....

ou can take them to small claims court in their jurisdiction - not a cost effective method, and no guarantee that it will work.

You cannot reverse the refund, you issued it voluntarily AND prematurely. You'll have to consider it a lesson learned if the buyer won't voluntarily repay. If a case hadnt been opened you didn't need to refund. If a case was opened, you should have called eBay and had them view the tracking and close it because the item was available for pickup at the PO. You have no recourse here other than small claims court but it's doubtful you would win.

Chalk it up as a loss, nothing you can do. You would lose in small claims too, nothing the buyer did was illegal, they didnt make you refund them without getting the item back. Dont harrass or stalk them either, thats a common thing I see advised here and it will not get you the results youre wanting, trust me. Move on.

This is a two year old necro thread, but for those reading the proper procedure is to have the buyer file an item not received case. Upload the tracking stating attempted delivery, seller wins, case closes and feedback cannot be left.
In Ebay's eyes, attempted delivery and held at the PO is as good as delivered.
