How has Free Returns worked for you?

I’m thinking of offering  free returns and was wondering for those who offer free returns, how has it impacted your business.

Thank you in advance.

How has Free Returns worked for you?

sfc_auto_parts- you need to pose this question to other sellers who list items in your category, if you want a truly apples to apples comparison.
I sell collectible items which ship first class so any free returns mean nothing to me. I offered free returns as soon as the option came up to keep my TRS logo. I've not had a single return but anticipate them to come. There is no cost for me to provide a return label to the buyer.
Your auto parts are very expensive, and I would imagine cost quite a lot to ship, so offering free returns is an important decision for you to make. Hopefully others with similarly priced and large shipping costs will weigh in for you to compare. Good luck to you....

I only had one return this year. That was before the free return option kicked in. It all depends on what you sell.

Sellers have always had the option of Free Returns.  Ebay just added a couple perks and labeled it Free Returns.

Any seller that has or does offer 30 or 60 day returns with Seller Pays shipping are or have offered Free Returns.

My experience:

  1. It doesn't impact sales one way or another ... but, then again, eBay's guidance only suggested that free returns will give a seller only a 5% sales boost over 30-day buyer paid retruns.
  2. Returns shot up significantly for clothing (from 1% to 8%).
  3. Returns did not change in other categories.
  4. The 10% TRS+ discount did not cover the cost of returns.   If it were the old 20%, it would have covered costs.
